Veterans Day
This article was so touching; I feel terrible that this man came back to America to make something of himself by serving in the military and ended up almost losing his life and had to live the rest of his life with a burden of guilt and sadness that he couldn't ever vent about. I think that was probably a ridiculous amount of pressure for Anthony Acevedo, as a medic, to take care of everyone else. Acevedo "spoke the unspeakable" by voicing the atrocities that he saw even though he wasn't supposed to because it was the right thing to do.

I agree and feel bad that this man had to go threw so much and then after the fact he couldnt even vent about it. He had to live with the burden of what happened to him everyday. It had to feel go to finally get everything off his chest, even thought it brought up those horrible memories.
I agree with you that it is completely awful for someone like Anthony to come to America to be somebody, like serve the country, and then experience such an awful tragedy. I really thought it was awful that he couldn't voice his thoughts on what he experienced because he must have so many repressed feelings about it and it's not something you can just forget about and just brush it off like it never happened. I agree that he finally "spoke the unspeakable" by telling his story because it was the right thing for him to do.
